For lovers of Simplicity by Philippe Dufour

From its introduction in 2000 to 2014, approximately 200 pieces of Philippe Dufour's masterpiece "Simplicity" were produced.
Since then, the price has risen with each auction, and it has now transformed into an auction piece that surprises the world.

We at Shellman, who have been involved with Simplicity as its exclusive Japanese distributor since its launch, are delighted to see its global reputation grow, but it is not easy to imagine where Simplicity will go in the future.

In 2020, Philippe Dufour will start anew with world-renowned watch collector and jeweler Claude Sphir, but his masterpiece, Simplicity, will remain the starting point of his watchmaking philosophy.

"To pass on the tradition of the Vallée de Joux watches in better condition, which should be handed down from generation to generation," said Philippe Dufour.
This is a very important and significant mission for us at Shellman.

Last year, through several Simplicity watches, we have spun off several encounters.

For those of you who are considering consignment & purchase sales of your Simplicity.
And to those who are still looking for Simplicity around the world.

About Simplicity Overhaul

Simplicity watches are overhauled in a special way. Ultrasonic cleaners, which are currently the mainstream for cleaning parts, are not used because they damage the Simplicity movement, especially the mirror-finished parts. Simplicity's overhaul is done by hand, using traditional methods, with a rag (cleaning oil) and a brush. It takes several days and is very inefficient, but it is the best maintenance a watch can have. The maintenance is performed in Japan by a skilled Japanese watchmaker who has worked with and learned this method in Mr. Dufour's workshop.

Simplicity is a watch that runs with high precision even when it runs out of oil due to the high precision of the finishing of its parts. We hope you will consider overhauling your watch for Simplicity's sake.
